creative writing books from my library
Are you on LinkedIn? This summer I spent some time working on my profile over there – which is difficult when you do a little bit of everything and may want to do something totally different in the future! My resume is a little bit wackadoo to say the least. And if I’m being truthful, I have 4 different resumes that I use depending on the situation I find myself in. Lately people have been endorsing me on LinkedIn for skills that I’ve entered. Sometimes people endorse me for knowing a specific software application and I wonder, “How do they even know that I know how to use this?” Has this happened to you? Or do you click the endorse button just because it’s fun?
Recently, though, I received an email telling me that someone had endorsed me for a new skill: “creative writing.” The word new caught my attention and, sure enough, one of my connections had added this skill to my profile for me. I was a bit taken aback. In my profile overhaul during the summer, I hadn’t even considered myself to be a creative writer. I’d like to thank that person for seeing something in me that I didn’t see in myself. It made me realize how often we might not see qualities about ourselves that are right under our noses. Are there skills or qualities that you may be missing about yourself? Can you endorse someone else for a skill they might not be seeing?
